About The Position

The Forklift Driver/Operator is responsible for operating powered industrial machinery to ensure the accurate and efficient distribution of product. This role involves communication with various departments and Distribution Management in a timely and efficient manner.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous warehouse experience
  • Previous experience as a forklift operator
  • Excellent physical condition and coordination
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Must be able to work at elevated heights in a non-climate controlled environment
  • Ability to lift up to 60lbs unassisted
  • Must pass drug screen
  • Great organizational skills, attention to detail and time management skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to read and understand packaging, shipping documents, and safety guidelines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to perform basic math
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and peripheral vision

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of forklift driving course
  • OSHA training is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Operate a variety of forklifts.
  • Pick, pack, check, and load products accurately on/off and to/from designated areas in the facility.
  • Loading, unloading, locating, moving, stacking, shipping, tacking products and receiving warehouse items.
  • Optimize loads to ensure operational efficiency and check that loads are centered and properly stacked.
  • Secure loads to forklift before transportation.
  • Stretch wrap all outbound pallets.
  • Manage inventory by utilizing scanning equipment and performing QC of all pallets.
  • Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.
  • Unload merchandise from trailers or manually unload floor-loaded containers.
  • Assist with receiving merchandise using an android device, restacking pallets as necessary.
  • Work as a team to load and unload materials.
  • Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and perform regular safety inspections.
  • Safely operate all lift truck(s) equipment according to procedures.
  • Maintain a safe working environment, adhering to safety standards, following safety rules, and practicing good departmental housekeeping.
  • Understand computer applications and scanning procedures.
  • Meet performance standards for production and quality assurance, adhere to production schedules, and stay motivated to accomplish tasks timely and efficiently.
  • Cross-train to assist in other areas of the department or distribution center.
  • Take on new job responsibilities and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Provide availability for overtime, including evenings and weekends, during peak/seasonal needs.
  • Exhibit flexibility for earlier start times and work extended hours as needed.
