About The Position

This position operates various types of lift trucks to support the tool room, steel fab, and production departments. The role involves operating forklifts to deliver materials, performing pre-operation inspections, stocking areas, communicating via radio, emptying dumpsters, unloading trucks, staging product, changing cable rolls, ensuring safe handling of welding gasses, and reporting maintenance issues. The position requires adherence to all safety rules and regulations and maintaining a clean work area. The employee works independently with some supervision and reports to varying structures depending on the situation.

Responsibilities

Operate forklift to deliver plates, baskets, rebar racks, Styrofoam, and other items to production areas in a timely manner.
Operate overhead crane as needed.
Perform daily pre-operation inspection on equipment.
Keep areas stocked as needed.
Use radio to check in with all departments and address needs as requested.
Empty dumpsters.
Unload trucks.
Stage product in designated areas.
Change cable rolls.
Ensure proper storage and safe handling of welding gasses.
Inform maintenance of issues needing attention.
Must adhere to all Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulations.
Housekeeping as necessary to maintain work area, tools, and equipment in a clean and orderly manner.
