About The Position
This role is for a Production Forklift Driver/Grinder at IPL Schoeller. The company is a leading manufacturer of sustainable rigid packaging solutions. The role involves operating a forklift to move and load materials, including hazardous wastes, and preparing plastic for recycling. The position requires maintaining forklift equipment, ensuring a safe work atmosphere, and keeping the work area clean.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least 1-3 years of driving the forklift in a manufacturing environment
- Forklift certification
Responsibilities
- Moves and loads hazardous wastes under direction of supervisor.
- Cleans work area and equipment regularly by removing empty pallets, wood and plastic.
- Follows company standards and legal regulations to ensure safe and positive work atmosphere.
- Maintains forklift equipment by troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, recommending repairs and performing routine pre inspections.
- Identifies and reports faulty equipment, damages, and safety concerns to Supervisor immediately.
- Loads and unload products from trailers using forklift trucks and other material handling equipment.
- Transports products to and from warehouse and distribution centers.
- Delivers products to various units in safely and timely manner.
- Keeps own and adjacent work area clean.
- Organizes and stages the regrind material for processing.
- Prepares plastic for recycling.
