About The Position

This role combines the responsibilities of a Forklift Operator, Order Picker, and Scale Clerk. The Forklift Operator is responsible for loading trailers, transporting materials, inspecting equipment, maintaining a safe work environment, and operating the forklift safely. The Order Preparation involves transporting materials, inspecting products, and sorting/packaging. The Scale Clerk records weights, enters data into the computer system, and maintains documentation. This is a physically demanding position requiring rigor, reliability, and a strong work ethic.

Requirements

Comfortable lifting and moving up to 23 kg (50 lb)
Comfortable using computer systems
Comfortable operating a forklift (1 year of experience)
A strong team player with a solid work ethic
Punctual and reliable
Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality

Responsibilities

Load flatbed trailers according to operational needs
Transport various materials and/or supplies required for operations
Inspect equipment before the start of each shift and perform operator changeovers as needed
Ensure cleanliness of the premises and equipment to maintain a safe and clean work environment
Review completed work from the previous shift and upcoming tasks based on priorities set by the production supervisor
Notify the production supervisor of any mechanical issues
Operate the forklift safely and diligently
Demonstrate a high level of vigilance to prevent accidents and/or tip-overs (pedestrians, buildings, fixed equipment, trucks, and other machinery)
Use the forklift according to its capabilities and limitations
Transport raw materials, finished products, and equipment throughout the plant, manually or using mechanical equipment
Perform a complete inspection of finished products
Sort, package, crate, and wrap materials and products
Perform any other related labor or general work tasks
Record the weight of all incoming loads
Enter reports and data into the computer system as required
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation
Communicate with yard personnel, customer service, production staff, and other relevant stakeholders as needed
