About The Position

This position will accurately and efficiently pick orders while using first in first out (FIFO) methods to fulfill customer orders. The role involves operating a fork truck in a potentially hazardous environment and ensuring food safety standards are met.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform mathematical operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Regularly required to sit and talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands or fingers, to handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Ability to perform tasks involving high levels of cognitive function and judgment.
  • Not mentally or physically impaired from any cause that can adversely affect ability to safely and competently perform the duties of the position.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately and efficiently pick orders using FIFO methods.
  • Follow all Safety, SQF, GMP, and housekeeping rules and regulations.
  • Operate fork truck safely in a potentially hazardous environment (wet, sloped floors, heavy pedestrian traffic).
  • Responsible for proper use and maintenance of the scanning system.
  • Verify cases picked to match Bill of Lading.
  • Perform daily safety and maintenance checks of the vehicle.
  • Communicate all issues to management for improvements.
  • Properly and accurately complete paperwork.
  • Ship product free of contamination.
  • Follow all Ken’s Foods Security and GMP policies.
  • Report any suspicious activities.
  • Inspect work area for any possible product contamination issues on a continuous basis.
  • Report any leaking or spilled product immediately.
  • Inspect all incoming and outgoing loads for signs of product contamination.
