About The Position

This position will accurately and efficiently pick orders while using first in first out (FIFO) methods to fulfill customer orders. The role involves operating a fork truck in a potentially hazardous environment and ensuring food safety standards are met.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
Ability to perform mathematical operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Regularly required to sit and talk or hear.
Occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands or fingers, to handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Ability to perform tasks involving high levels of cognitive function and judgment.
Not mentally or physically impaired from any cause that can adversely affect ability to safely and competently perform the duties of the position.

Responsibilities

Accurately and efficiently pick orders using FIFO methods.
Follow all Safety, SQF, GMP, and housekeeping rules and regulations.
Operate fork truck safely in a potentially hazardous environment (wet, sloped floors, heavy pedestrian traffic).
Responsible for proper use and maintenance of the scanning system.
Verify cases picked to match Bill of Lading.
Perform daily safety and maintenance checks of the vehicle.
Communicate all issues to management for improvements.
Properly and accurately complete paperwork.
Ship product free of contamination.
Follow all Ken’s Foods Security and GMP policies.
Report any suspicious activities.
Inspect work area for any possible product contamination issues on a continuous basis.
Report any leaking or spilled product immediately.
Inspect all incoming and outgoing loads for signs of product contamination.
