FORK LIFT OPERATOR (Shipping)- 1st Shift
About The Position
The Fork Lift Operator works in shipping and receiving, operating a forklift safely and efficiently and operating wrapping equipment when needed. The role maintains orderly stock and materials, documents materials unloaded from or taken off trucks, and pulls jobs for production while handling inbound forms, inventory tags, and counts for received or shipped materials. The operator also supports other shipping and receiving material handlers by balancing workloads, organizing warehouses, and performing general cleaning. The position requires following safe forklift operating procedures and reporting missing, broken, bent, or worn forklift parts to a supervisor or maintenance. The operator must watch for obvious defects in incoming materials and follow all safety and work rules, company policies, and procedures. Other duties may be assigned or changed at any time, with or without notice.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 6 months of prior forklift operating experience.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime on short notice, both during the week and on weekends.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with seasonal temperature variations, around machinery and heavy forklift traffic.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a PCA-certified forklift license.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple requests simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, communicating effectively with team members.
