About The Position

Cummins Inc. is hiring a Forging Press Operator for its manufacturing facility in Morristown, Tennessee. The role operates production machines and equipment in accordance with quality and productivity requirements, working safely with limited guidance. The operator sets up and operates a forging press and follows safety procedures, company policies, standard work, process documentation, and quality procedures. The role is part of the Weekend B night-shift team, working 12-hour shifts Friday through Sunday in a fast-paced production environment.

Requirements

High school diploma, certificate of completion of secondary education, or equivalent experience that meets applicable regulations.
Some work experience or intermediate-level knowledge obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience.
Ability to stand for 12 hours per shift in a fast-paced production environment.
Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Follow all safety policies and procedures and Cummins company policies.
The position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate a forging press.
Operate machines and production equipment according to quality and productivity requirements.
Stop work and promptly report major injury hazards, work-related injuries, illnesses, incidents, and hazards.
Follow HSE standards, policies, procedures, regulations, safety policies, and company policies.
Consistently use appropriate personal protective equipment.
Promote team safety and look out for colleagues.
Recognize and minimize the environmental impact of work.
Follow standard work, process documentation, and quality procedures.
Participate in training and development and contribute to improvements in quality, safety, and processes.
Communicate effectively, address difficult issues, achieve goals, and hold oneself and others accountable.
