About The Position

This position is responsible to work as a crew helper on presses within the Forge, assist in the forgings and forming of various types of materials and shapes. The successful candidate(s) may be required to work rotating shifts, including 24/7 and in some areas, there may be seven-day continuous schedules and there will be times when overtime work (over 40 hours/week) will be mandatory.

Requirements

  • Work as a crew helper on presses within the Forge.
  • Assist in the forgings and forming of various types of materials and shapes.
  • Operate the manipulator and other required equipment.
  • Charge steel into furnaces prior to forging.
  • Operate furnace doors, light furnaces, use and read furnace instrumentation.
  • Assist in forging operation as a floor man.
  • Place punches on forging, paddle forging.
  • Operate cutting and scarfing torch.
  • Clean scale from forging as material is being forged.
  • Stamp identification markings on forging by hand or power activated tool.
  • Stack brick in furnace openings.
  • Change jaws and dies.
  • Perform preventative maintenance duties.
  • Complete clerical duties.
  • Maintain working area in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
  • Observe all safety rules and regulations.
  • Attend all required meetings and trainings.
  • Perform all other duties as required.
  • Regular attendance as scheduled is an essential function.

  • Work as a crew member performing duties related to the forge operation under the direction of the Supervisor/Forge Operator II.
  • Ability to operate the manipulator and other required equipment.
  • Charge steel into furnaces prior to forging, when required.
  • Operate furnace doors, light furnaces, use and read furnace instrumentation, assist in forging operation as a floor man.
  • Place punches on forging, paddle forging, operate cutting and scarfing torch, clean scale from forging as material is being forged.
  • Stamp identification markings on forging by hand or power activated tool.
  • Stack brick in furnace openings.
  • Change jaws and dies.
  • Perform preventative maintenance duties associated with the proper function and operation of the forge area.
  • Complete clerical duties.
  • Maintain working area in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
  • Observe all safety rules and regulations.
  • Attend all required meetings and trainings.
  • Perform all other duties as required.
  • Regular attendance as scheduled is an essential function.
