About The Position

The Seasonal Forestry Help assists with all aspects of forest land management on the FSC certified, 118-thousand-acre Collins Pennsylvania Forest. This role requires compliance with safety standards, performing various land management tasks, and working independently in remote locations. On-site attendance is essential to effectively perform the listed duties and responsibilities.

Requirements

• Ability to keep detailed records and maps.
• Must be able to perform rigorous, field-based work in all weather conditions, on steep, brush-filled terrain.
• Ability to follow all company, state and federal safety rules when performing required job duties.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal history check and a pre-employment drug screening.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Report.

Nice To Haves

• Basic understanding of maps preferred.
• Ability to identify forest plants preferred.

Responsibilities

• Comply with safety standards at all times and correct/report any observed safety hazards.
• Perform boundary line maintenance, tree planting, GPS data collection, and invasive species treatments (mechanical and herbicide).
• Keep detailed records of all tasks.
• Work independently in remote locations with little supervision.
• Perform additional duties as required by supervisor.
• On-site attendance is essential to effectively perform the listed duties and responsibilities.
