About The Position

As a Forest Maintenance Worker with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, you will be part of a team that keeps the Tiadaghton Forest District safe, clean, and ready for public use. This position lets you develop practical skills while supporting forest operations, recreation areas, and wildlife habitats. You will play a key role in caring for forest roads, equipment, and facilities. This job is perfect for someone who enjoys working with their hands and making a visible difference in the outdoors.

Requirements

  • One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and repair forest buildings, structures, trails, and equipment
  • Operate and maintain tools, vehicles, and machinery for forest and road upkeep
  • Maintain road surfaces and right-of-way areas to ensure safe travel conditions
  • Assist with planting, pruning, and other activities that support forest and wildlife management
  • Support fire prevention, suppression efforts, and controlled burn activities as assigned
  • Help with additional forest operations including snow removal, supply delivery, and facility protection
