About The Position

Nexus Family Healing is looking to add a part-time Youth Skills Workers to our new Restorative Services Program here in Oregon! Nexus Family Healing, a national non-profit mental health organization serving youth and families for over 50 years, is offering a new statewide Restorative Services program in Oregon. Our Restorative Services Program serves youth ages 11-18 who have a level of court involvement that requires the evaluation of their fitness to proceed with their legal participation. With a team of psychologists and social services professionals, Nexus is committed to filling the gaps in service and providing programs that meet the needs of the Oregon youth. Requirements

  • Bachelors degree or above in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields from an accredited college or university OR in lieu of a bachelor's degree, a minimum of a high school diploma or GED and three years of relevant work, education, training or experience
  • Must be QMHA (Qualified Mental Health Associate) qualified
  • Experience working with at-risk youth and families
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data entry skills required
  • Educated on and compliant with HIPAA regulations
  • Must have access to use of personal vehicle for business travel
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Must have the ability to build strong relationships with diverse individuals or communities and understand their unique needs and challenges
  • Must be open to meeting the cultural needs of individuals or communities, considering factors such as language, traditions, and values

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of family-based philosophy and practice
  • Experience in related community-based work, working with families, youth, and trauma exposed children and adolescents

Responsibilities

  • Assists clients in using age-appropriate self-management skills, including communication, self-regulation, self-help skills, play, social, and relationship skills
  • Provides de-escalation and therapeutic supports as needed with clients
  • Notifies and collaborates with Clinical Supervisor in case of crises and emergencies
  • Completes clinical documentation in compliance with program expectations; demonstrates strong written and oral communication skills to generate and support program documentation expectations and standards
  • Attends and participates in clinical supervision and team case consultation meetings in accordance with program expectations
  • Completes education and training experiences in accordance with program expectations
  • Ensures minimum hours of direct services as assigned
  • Maintains compliance with all agency, state, and regulatory standards and remain compliant with all HIPAA regulations
  • Assists in implementing responses to youth behavior and other skills deficits according to the developed treatment plan
