About The Position

The SANE team (sexual assault nurse examiner) is a team of nurses who care for sexually assaulted patients or patients who have experienced domestic violence related abuse presenting to our 12 Atrium Health facilities in Mecklenburg County/Charlotte NC. We are specifically trained and educated to thoroughly examine patients, provide evidence collection, and medically treat after an assault. Our team has specialized training in sexual assault trauma informed care. We are looking for SANEs who have completed training and are ready to provide compassionate care. As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Typically requires 2-3 years of experience in clinical nursing within an acute care setting.

Nice To Haves

  • International Association of Forensic Nursing Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Adult/Adolescent (SANE-A) and Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Pediatric (SANE-P) certifications.
