About The Position

The Oklahoma Forensic Center (OFC) is a 24 hour/365 day secure inpatient forensic facility that provides jail competency services for the State of Oklahoma. The Security department is hiring for a Forensic Officer that would be assigned responsibilities at an inpatient behavioral health facility that may include, but are not limited to, the inspection of buildings and grounds for elimination of fire hazards, enforcement of laws, rules and regulations and providing security against acts of terrorism. This may include patrolling assigned premises to identify and correct fire hazards, providing assistance to employees, directing traffic, monitoring security cameras, performing walks of the units, assisting staff with the movement of consumers within the facility to assure safety, transporting consumers to appointments, off grounds if needed and responds and assists with medical emergencies or other calls from the units and Supervising employees.

Requirements

  • Basic security and/or firefighter’s course and four years of experience in security or fire prevention and protection work plus one additional year of qualifying experience; OR eighteen months of experience in security work and a current licensure as an armed security guard through the Council of Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET)
  • Must be able to pass an OSBI background check
  • Must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Occasionally lifting/carrying 60 pounds
  • Able to push and pull a maximum force of 30 pounds

Responsibilities
