About The Position

The Forensic Nurse Examiner provides patient care as part of the CARE team and works collaboratively with team staff to assess and implement departmental educational needs. The nurse provides education and resources to staff, patients, families, and the community. The role involves consistently performing daily clinical duties in accordance with established policies and procedures, delivering care with a team-oriented approach, strong customer relations, sound clinical judgment, and appropriate decision-making.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of clinical experience appropriate to the clinical area.
• BSN required.
• Current permit or license to practice professional nursing in Texas.
• Complete Pediatric Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) certification within 1 year of hire.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Nice To Haves

• ICU and/or ED experience.
• Prior teaching experience.
• MSN.
