Children and Family Services is recruiting for a Forensic Interviewer to serve as a fact finder in sensitive investigations by conducting child-friendly, trauma-informed interviews with child victims in a neutral setting. Using open-ended, non-leading questions, the Forensic Interviewer elicits accurate information that supports the investigative process while minimizing additional stress for the child. This position works closely with Forensic Pediatricians to address medical and health concerns identified during the child’s visit to the Children’s Assessment Center (CAC). The Forensic Interviewer also facilitates collaboration across multiple partners, including law enforcement, The District Attorney’s Office, Child and Family Services Social Workers, Dependency Court Attorneys, medical professionals, and other stakeholders, ensuring a coordinated response to the needs of children and families. This position will also prepare detailed written reports summarizing the outcomes of interviews, which may be utilized in criminal, juvenile, or family law court proceedings and provide testimony in court proceedings. Through these responsibilities, the Forensic Interview Specialist plays a critical role in protecting children, supporting families, and ensuring accurate, evidence-informed outcomes in both investigative and court settings. Assignment Location: This position is assigned to work at both the Children’s Assessment Center (CAC), located at 700 East Gilbert Street, San Bernardino, and Resiliency Institute for Childhood Adversity (RICA), located at 11374 Mountain View Avenue, Suite A, Loma Linda. Travel and field work, including home visits, are a routine part of these assignments.
