About The Position

The Ohio Narcotics Intelligence Center provides investigative support through the extraction and analysis of electronic devices, criminal case support, trend analysis, cryptocurrency tracing, and dark web investigations. The State of Ohio is a drug-free workplace which prohibits the use of marijuana (recreational marijuana/non-medical cannabis). Requirements

  • Must obtain LEADS certification; must renew LEADS certification biannually.
  • Must be able to obtain & maintain secret level federal security clearance.
  • Requires valid driver's license to operate state-owned vehicle or must be able to provide own transportation.
  • 48 mos. exp conducting research & writing reports using operational, mathematical, analytical &/or statistical research techniques.
  • Completion of graduate core program in homeland security, political science, criminal justice, emergency management, public health, international affairs or related field; AND 12 mos. exp. conducting research & writing reports using operational, mathematical, analytical &/or statistical research techniques.
  • 12 mos. exp. as Public Safety Intelligence Analyst, 64931.
  • Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

Responsibilities

  • Manage & monitor all fiscal functions within the program by conducting thorough forensic financial analysis of businesses, individuals or groups identified as participating in suspicious or illegal activity
  • Conduct, oversee & manage advanced analysis of financial data & other information relevant to financial crimes, including activity involving cryptocurrency
  • Identify & trace funding sources & interrelated transactions
  • Identify assets for forfeiture or seizure & calculate losses
  • Compile findings & conclusions into financial investigative reports
  • Establish priorities & supervise subordinate personnel (e.g. provide developmental opportunities & work direction, coach staff to foster development, monitor staff activities to ensure quality customer service & information technology security, evaluate performance, approve section staffing levels, recommend discipline, pre-screen applications & participate in interviews)
