Forensic Behavioral Health Specialist
About The Position
Yamhill County has one regular full-time position for a Behavioral Health Forensics Specialist (QMHP/Master’s Level Clinician) in Adult Behavioral Health. In this position you would be responsible for providing a range of clinical services to community members in the criminal justice system; providing compassionate and person-centered care to those with severe and persistent mental illness. In this position you will be accountable for court related responsibilities connected to Aid and Assist and Mental Health Court, Pre-civil Commitment Investigation, case management, creating and maintaining community partner relationships, individualized care and case planning, in office crisis services and acting as a back-up to other Forensic Behavioral Health Clinicians on the team. This position may be filled as either an Advanced Practice Behavioral Health Clinician or a Behavioral Health Clinician, depending on experience and credentialing.
Requirements
- MSW or master’s degree in a social services field from an accredited school
- One year of experience as a Human Services Specialist I (for Behavioral Health Clinician)
- Must qualify as a QMHP or CADC to work in respective fields
- May require licensing
- Three years post-master’s experience (for Advanced Practice Behavioral Health Clinician)
- Active professional license in the state of Oregon as a Qualified Mental Health Provider (QMHP) (for Advanced Practice Behavioral Health Clinician)
- Or be a non-licensed QMHP with dual credentialing as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC I, II, or III) (for Advanced Practice Behavioral Health Clinician)
- Must have an NPI number or be able to obtain one upon employment
- Successful completion of a background check
- Working knowledge of techniques specifically related to community mental health services
- Able to understand the behavior of people under stress
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, to develop and maintain effective cooperative relationships with clients and their families, the community, physicians, law enforcement agencies, the courts, and public and private administrators
- Dependable, organized, self-directed, detail-oriented
- Courteous, professional interpersonal communication skills to promote a positive workplace among our team, your coworkers, clients, and the general public
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of this classification with or without accommodation
