About The Position

Sureway Construction is one of Alberta’s largest heavy construction contractors, with over 50 years’ experience, involved in civil earthworks and grading, utilities and offsite, mine operation and aggregate extraction. This is a full-time, seasonal position located in Edmonton and surrounding areas. The role requires a hard-working, reliable individual with a flexible schedule and the ability to work in physically demanding conditions. The job involves working 10+ hours per day, with a 6 and 1 schedule, and overtime after 8 hours per day or 44 hours per week. Perks include benefits and RRSP/TFSA matching. The location does not have direct access to public transportation, so a personal reliable vehicle is essential.

Requirements

Personal Reliable Vehicle
CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support
Clean Driver’s Abstract, Valid Driver’s License
Drug and alcohol testing (swab-based test)
Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation
Must have between (5) and (10) years' experience as a Foreman (Water & Sewer).
Must have previous supervisory experience
Must be proficient with CAT E.T., S.I.S., Komatsu, Prosis and Service Advisor
Ability to read/troubleshoot and diagnose using hydraulic and electronic schematics
Must be open to new learning experiences
Exceptional organization and cleanliness skills are REQUIRED

Responsibilities

Oversee, supervise and manage the day to day operations on site
Supervisions of operators and labourers to ensure schedules and timelines are met
Assist with troubleshooting
Ensure equipment is maintained at the highest standards, in a timely manner
Conduct performance and quality checks according to procedure
Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture
