  • Willingness to authorize motor vehicle driving record checks.
  • Willingness to submit to pre-hire, random, and post-incident drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

  • Provide site supervision and site-based senior leadership of a PTS construction project.
  • Act as point of contact with customer, vendors and subcontractors on site.
  • Maintain Safety, Quality and Productivity.
  • Understand the contract scope of work and identify field-initiated scope changes (change orders).
  • Provide leadership regarding Safety on the jobsite and foster a Safety Culture within the crew.
  • Provide leadership regarding Quality on the jobsite, eliminating rework and sloppy work.
  • Enhance field productivity, consistently performing projects under budget and on time.
  • Balance customer satisfaction with project profitability, keeping customers happy while protecting the company regarding scope changes and barrier time.
  • Provide craft knowledge and experience to the crew, with expertise in areas such as welding, structural erection, tank repair, new tank construction, and rigging.
  • Evaluate field employees, identify candidates for promotion, and provide guidance and training for their development.
  • Communicate employee evaluation information to Construction Managers and HR.
  • Assist Construction Managers and HR in recruiting field workers.
  • Ensure the care and maintenance of all tooling and equipment, and immediately call off equipment rentals when no longer needed.
  • Utilize experience and skills to identify opportunities for improvement of company practices and resources.
  • Represent PTS in a professional, positive light to customers and employees.
  • Provide a positive contribution to pre-construction planning efforts.
  • Communicate effectively with support staff (Design, Purchasing, PM, Admin).
  • Understand estimated manhours and scope on projects prior to job start and work with PM in tracking progress weekly (Field Labor Reports).
  • Work with Safety Specialist, Construction Administration and HR to ensure employees have necessary training and certifications (safety training, DOT, OQ, welder testing, site-specific requirements).
  • Complete all necessary paperwork, including daily time sheets, safety and quality audits, customer required paperwork, and equipment inspections.
  • Advise Project Management of potential problems, work interferences, and schedule difficulties, and assist in resolving them.
  • Provide complete, final project paperwork to the Design Group at the end of projects for the creation of the Final QC Book.
