About The Position

The Light Equipment Foreman will oversee and manage civil equipment crews. This position requires a strong understanding of civil processes, leadership abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple crews regarding scheduling, processes, time, and cost. The foreman must also be able to read blueprints and specifications, identify tools and safety risks, and ensure all job duties of craft trades are performed.

Requirements

  • 4+ years’ experience as a dirt operator
  • 2+ years in a supervisory position
  • Possess all Knowledge Skills and Abilities for positions
  • Able to meet all physical requirements
  • Reliable transportation
  • Leadership Abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple crews
  • Ability to plan out the workload for multiple crews and multiple processes
  • Ability to read and understand IFC drawings
  • Ability to find footage, utilize addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions to perform all craft duties.

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work: locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
  • Identify all tools required for tasks.
  • Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
  • Manage multiple crews regarding scheduling, processes and sequences, time, and cost.
  • Illustrate in-depth knowledge of all civil processes.
  • Perform all job duties of craft trade.
  • Read and understand IFC drawings.
  • Understand when to stop production work and when an RFI needs to be initiated.
  • Read and understand craft specs and cut sheets, craft spec procedures, and recommendations.
  • Plan work and execute.
  • Take drawings, required material, line out helpers and execute work.
  • Perform basic maintenance (inspections) and safe operations practices for equipment.
