About The Position

The Light Equipment Operator supports essential public works services by safely operating light equipment and performing manual labor to maintain City infrastructure and public spaces. This role exists to keep streets, facilities, and right-of-way areas functional, clean, and safe for the community.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain required endorsements/certifications as assigned
• Ability to work outdoors in variable weather and perform physically demanding tasks
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn equipment operation
• Dependable attendance, clear communication, and attention to safety

Responsibilities

• Operating light equipment and hand/power tools
• Assisting with maintenance and repair tasks
• Performing routine inspections and basic servicing
• Setting up traffic control and work zones
• Loading/unloading materials
• Completing required documentation while following safety procedures
