About The Position

Foreman II – Maintenance oversees the daily maintenance and operational integrity of park facilities under the general supervision of the Parks Division Director. The role combines direct instruction and supervision of crew members with hands-on maintenance, facility inspections, personnel management, purchasing, safety oversight, budgeting support, and special-event operations.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Three years of experience in landscape maintenance, general maintenance, painting, welding, or scheduling.
Two years of experience in a supervisory or lead role.
Valid CDL.
TDA Applicators license.

Nice To Haves

Certified Playground Safety Inspector or TCEQ Licensed Irrigator.
Texas Class A CDL or approved equivalent.

Responsibilities

Provide instruction to crew members to ensure proper maintenance of park structures, facilities, and grounds.
Perform maintenance duties to improve the parks system and monitor facilities to ensure they remain safe, secure, and well-maintained.
Supervise personnel, including hiring, training, timesheet approval, performance reviews, and work scheduling.
Enter work-order information in the park division’s MAINTRAC tracking program.
Conduct bi-weekly inspections of parks, playgrounds, and facilities; prepare and submit reports; and schedule repair and maintenance activities.
Obtain prices and purchase materials for assignments and construction projects in accordance with city purchasing guidelines.
Approve purchases up to $1,000 without supervisor approval.
Oversee the Parks Division Safety Program, plan and present employee safety training, and enforce safety rules and procedures.
Work with the Parks Division Director to develop the parks division operating budget and capital requests.
Support special events through planning, scheduling, setup, operation, and teardown of city and private events.
Follow City policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Perform other duties as assigned.
