About The Position

We are seeking a full-time Heavy Equipment Operator/Foreman to operate heavy equipment and lead a small crew. The work involves grading, excavating, loading, hauling, trenching, driving metal posts, and moving dirt to support earthwork projects. The job description provides a general overview of the role and is not a comprehensive inventory of all duties or qualifications.

Requirements

At least 3 years of relevant heavy equipment operating experience.
Ability to efficiently operate mini excavators and/or bobcats.
Ability to communicate directly with clients and manage crew members.
Reliable transportation.
Current and valid driver's license.
Physical fitness to perform manual labor in various environments and conditions, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
Ability to sit and stand, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, and verbally communicate and listen.
Ability to walk, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

Experience operating full-sized excavators, loaders, and dozers.

Responsibilities

Operate excavators, mini excavators, and bobcats, and run a small crew on a daily basis.
Install erosion control measures such as silt fence and super silt fence.
Excavate for and build bioretention facilities, rain gardens, ponds, sediment basins, and other stormwater management facilities and BMPs.
Muck out and re-grade ponds.
Shoot grades for stakeout and read and interpret cut sheets.
Fine grade.
Install underdrain on roadway projects.
Complete other grading and excavation needs as requested by clients.
