Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Spanish from an Accredited four-year institution or a Masters Degree in a closely related field with 18 graduate hours in the field.
  • All persons must provide verifiable and relevant professional experience in a workplace setting or a demonstrated instructional/teaching environment.
  • Demonstrate proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite or similar products, database systems, College email and website, and other computer applications associated with the position.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive and collaborative working relationships with community organizations, high school partners, college staff, and the general public.

Nice To Haves

  • A second discipline, such as French, is desired.
  • It is preferred that the candidate has an additional 18 hours in another foreign language or curriculum discipline.
  • A minimum of two years’ teaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain mastery and currency in the credentialed field.
  • Market, recruit and retain students in all college transfer programs.
  • Ensure compliance and confidentiality with all policies and procedures of the College, NC Community College System, and applicable State and Federal agencies.
  • Perform record keeping functions in the areas of student performance, including student learning outcomes, an accurate and timely manner.
  • Advise students in various degree programs.
  • Participate in a wide variety of extra-curricula committee and campus support functions to include scholarships, grants, campus marketing, accreditation, inter-institutional and system cooperative programs.
  • Program planning and support of Institutional Effectiveness plan.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with all college employees while at the same time demonstrating sensitivity to and respect for a diverse population.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
