About The Position

Brock & Scott, PLLC is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Paralegal to provide legal and administrative support to attorneys throughout the lifecycle of assigned cases. This role will assist with legal document preparation, research, case file management, and trial preparation while ensuring work is completed accurately and in accordance with applicable procedures and deadlines. The ideal candidate has strong organizational and communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of legal terminology, principles, research methods, court pleadings, and legal processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent interpersonal and client service abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, sometimes high-pressure environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise independent judgment and discretion.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of experience working as a Paralegal preferred.
  • Associate degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field preferred.
  • Mortgage default industry experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with attorneys, clients, and other professionals to discuss assigned cases and projects.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, including routine pleadings, motions, affidavits, and interrogatories, and file documents in accordance with applicable court procedures.
  • Conduct legal research and analyze statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources; provide written summaries and analysis to attorneys.
  • Prepare, organize, maintain, and retrieve case files, including evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, and other case-related materials.
  • Assist attorneys with case preparation and other legal projects as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of billable hours associated with assigned matters.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise appropriate discretion and judgment when handling sensitive information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
