Ford Racing Additive Engineer

Ford•Allen Park, MI
•$86,600 - $166,200•Hybrid

About The Position

Ford Racing is expanding its Additive Manufacturing (AM) team to establish a center of excellence and increase the use of additive manufacturing across motorsports and production vehicle products. The small team identifies opportunities for AM to help Ford Racing develop efficient, cutting-edge products. This role supports prominent Ford products and has significant visibility with senior Ford leaders and potentially with external partners. The engineer will work with Design and Release (D&R) and development engineers to identify opportunities to accelerate design evaluation or avoid production-tool capital costs. The role coaches engineers on AM suitability, develops designs compatible with AM, coordinates build design and execution with manufacturing facilities, and guides products through execution and industrialization. The engineer will also collaborate with D&R and Architecture teams to identify systems, subsystems, and components for AM in early stages of future programs. For externally led projects, the engineer coordinates with relevant program and functional teams and communicates program requirements—including functional, timing, and financial requirements—to external partners. The position is hybrid, with a requirement to work onsite four or more days per week. Limited initial travel may be needed for benchmarking site visits; additional supplier or partner travel may be optional.
