Ford Racing Additive Engineer

Ford Motor Company•Allen Park, MI
•$86,600 - $166,200•Hybrid

About The Position

Ford Racing is expanding its Additive Manufacturing (AM) team to establish a center of excellence and increase the use of additive manufacturing across motorsports and production vehicle products. The team identifies opportunities for AM to help create efficient, cutting-edge products. This role will work on prominent Ford products and have visibility with senior leaders and potentially with external partners. The engineer will support internally led projects by working with Design and Release (D&R) and development engineers to identify applications where AM can accelerate design evaluation or avoid production-tool capital costs. The role coaches engineers on AM suitability, develops designs for AM, coordinates build design and execution with manufacturing facilities, and guides products through execution and industrialization. The engineer will also work with D&R and Architecture teams to identify systems, subsystems, and components for AM in the early stages of future programs. For externally led projects, the engineer coordinates with relevant program and functional teams and communicates functional, timing, and financial requirements to external partners. Initial travel is limited to benchmarking site visits; additional optional travel to suppliers or partners may be available. Ford facilities are located in Southeast Michigan. The position is hybrid and requires onsite work four or more days per week.
