About The Position

The ideal candidate will have coaching experience in football and possess knowledge of strength and conditioning principles. Coaches are expected to adhere to all policies and procedures established by the MIAA and GLTS, demonstrate positive character, and promote sportsmanship both on and off the field. They will foster leadership skills in student-athletes, emphasize the importance of academic achievement, and cultivate pride within their program, school, and the broader community.

Requirements

  • Coaching experience in football.
  • Knowledge of strength and conditioning principles.
  • High School diploma.
  • At least five years of experience.
  • Concussion Education Certification.
  • CPR/AED Certification.
  • MIAA Coaches Education Certification.
  • Completion of ArxED Training.
  • Sport Specific Training - NFHS approved courses.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all policies and procedures established by the MIAA and GLTS.
  • Demonstrate positive character and promote sportsmanship both on and off the field.
  • Foster leadership skills in student-athletes.
  • Emphasize the importance of academic achievement.
  • Cultivate pride within their program, school, and the broader community.
  • Lead, motivate, and mentor student-athletes while ensuring a safe, structured, and positive team environment.
  • Ensure knowledge of sport-specific rules, strategies, and techniques.
  • Ensure familiarity with MIAA/GLTS regulations, proper conditioning and training practices, and emergency procedures, including CPR and AED.
  • Foster teamwork, manage conflicts, coordinate schedules, and cultivate positive relationships with students/players, parents/caregivers, and colleagues.
