About The Position

Assembles, portions, labels, restocks foods for cafeteria services. Provides appropriate and hospitable service to customers. Maintains sanitation of cafeteria. Performs warewashing duties. Requirements

  • Requires the ability to carry out instructions and procedures that are standardized.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Understands basic weights and measures.
  • Understands basic mathematical functions.
  • High school education or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Assists in training of other food service workers.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares area for food serving. Sets up steam tables and service areas with hot food items, salads, desserts, fruits, breakfast foods, etc.
  • Prepares and portions salads and desserts.
  • Slices meats and prepares deli items i.e. sandwiches, mixed salads, cheese, etc.
  • Replenishes food items as necessary.
  • Makes coffee.
  • Participates in cafeteria special events.
  • Serves food in prescribed quantities according to food service standards.
  • Takes temperatures before and during meal service.
  • Informs production if a menu item is running low.
  • Stocks cold supply before, during and after each meal service.
