About The Position

The FOODRx Coordinator supports daily operations and participant engagement for Second Harvest Heartland’s Food is Medicine program, FOODRx. This highly hands-on role includes coordinating participant enrollment, conducting outreach before program participation, engaging with participants throughout the program, and supporting follow-up to ensure medically tailored food boxes and other food products are produced and delivered successfully to designated locations. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, excellent organization, dependability, attention to detail, and personal initiative. In alignment with Second Harvest Heartland’s values, this position works closely with a cross-functional team, including food sourcing, SNAP and other food and non-food resource referral teams, volunteer services, and transportation. The FOODRx Coordinator also contributes to a positive, collaborative team environment and supports the ongoing success of the program.

Requirements

  • A combination of education and relevant experience generally attained through a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • OR a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in coordinating and/or project management.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate.
  • Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills to create a welcoming environment where everyone is welcomed and valued.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with Microsoft Office, Office 365 and the ability to learn other computer software programs.
  • Ability to work with flexibility, efficiency, and enthusiasm, both individually and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, manage and follow through on multiple daily tasks and projects.
  • Operate equipment, or willingness to obtain forklift certification on the job
  • Ability to lead and coordinate production process and work cross-departmentally
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn inventory management computer software
  • Valid MN driver’s license and good driving record in accordance with SHH insurance carrier acceptable guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the planning, scheduling and implementation of volunteer box packing in partnership with Operations and Volunteer Engagement to meet the needs of NS food box needs.
  • Navigate multiple databases and systems including NetSuite, Service Now, Waerlinx, and the Microsoft Suite for operational and financial tracking
  • Partner closely with volunteers, Operations Supervisor and FOODRx partners to ensure successful product delivery to multiple sites using various methods of transportation.
  • Provide customer support assistance for NS partners related to transportation and product quality.
  • Assist the Inventory Specialist with monthly FOODRx inventory tracking, including individual input products and finished food boxes. Provide support for SHH’s annual inventory process each September.
  • Understand safety policies and actively promote safe practices in the workplace.
  • Ensure food safety regulations are being followed for the storage and distribution of boxes and raw goods in the SHH warehouse space.
  • In the event of a recall, assist with recall steps under the Supervisor's direction.
  • Assist FOODRx Supervisor in creating processes for improvement in production, transportation, and food procurement as needed.
  • Support FOODRx production planning by assisting with forecasting needs, food procurement planning, and product transfers with the FOODRx Operations Supervisor and SHH Purchasing Manager to ensure product availability for box packing shifts.
  • Conduct engagement and enrollment calls while collecting patient feedback.
  • Serve as backup point-of-contact for partners and provide meeting-prep support for partner check-ins.
  • Assist with cross-departmental and external training.
  • Actively promote SNAP, CSFP, and other public assistance programs.
  • Preserve patient confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.
