Internship Description The New Hope of Indiana Food Truck Intern will be expected to perform the following throughout the internship: Observe, demonstrate, and document individuals culinary and customer service skills Order products, plan, and prepare food each day with the individuals to be sold on the food truck. Coordinate all aspects of operating the food truck (Drive the truck, maintain all food safety handling rules, collect money for food sold, balance books and demonstrate excellent customer service) Social Media Maintain positive skill-building and supportive environment Maintain New Hope of Indiana community partnerships through great customer service and communication. Internship Duration & Time Commitment The internship will be full time hours (36 per week) from May 2026 – July 2026. Job Requirements & Skills Education and Experience High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent Preferred Six (6) months professional, educational, or personal experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities. Six (6) months in food service industry. Special Training, Licensure, or Credentialing Valid Indiana Operator Driver’s License Maintain valid automobile insurance and a driving record that meets New Hope’s Transportation and Vehicular Safety policy. Expected to obtain a Food Safety Handlers license within thirty (30) days of hire Personal Skills and Aptitudes Requires the capacity to operate a box truck Knowledge of menu planning, food prep and quantity management. Required to move, lift, or carry items weighing up to 50 pounds as needed for the role.
