About The Position

The main responsibility of this position is to politely and efficiently pass trays to each patient. This role involves working various trayline stations, accurately assembling patient trays based on tickets, and delivering them to rooms while ensuring proper patient identification. The position also includes preparing and delivering requested items, providing alternative meal options when necessary, and performing service recovery. Additionally, responsibilities extend to picking up trays, scraping them in the dishroom, and assisting with dishwashing duties, including cleaning and sanitizing all food service items. The role requires the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all age groups and adhere to universal precautions.

Requirements

High School Preferred
Able to work with Nursing, patients, Food Service Department
Able to read and write English well.
Ability to stand on feet for entire shift
Ability to perform dishroom duties - hot/humid
Ability to get along with various types of personalities
Must be confident and have good sense to handle patient complaints
Must be able to work every other weekend

Responsibilities

Works different trayline stations as per worksheet. (Starter, milk, juice/salad, coffee, server, runner.)
Wears gloves when handling ready to eat foods.
Reads tray tickets and assembles patient trays accurately.
Transport patient trucks to units.
Delivers patient trays to rooms using 2 patient ID.
Performs service recovery after all trays have been delivered.
Prepares and delivers missing and or requested items for patients following procedures as per diet order.
Provide alternate menu to ensure adequate nutrition status if patient refuses meal.
Completes service recovery sheets accurately.
Picks up patient trays from assigned unit.
Scrapes trays in dishroom.
Works in dishroom as loader, unloader, or helper.
Cleans, sanitizes and air dry all trays, china, silverware, cups and soup bowls following standard procedures.
Wears gloves when handling patient silverware.
Practices universal precautions.
Demonstrates the ability to communicate with pediatric, adolescent, young adult.
Other duties as assigned.
