About The Position

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is currently seeking candidates for the position of Food Service Employee at Georgia Regional Hospital - Atlanta, located in Decatur, GA. Salary Range: $26,646.85 - $32,500.00. This role involves preparing, heating, and finishing cooking food items, serving customers, receiving and disbursing money, and cleaning work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware.

Requirements

High school diploma/GED and one (1) year of experience in the area of assignment; or one (1) year of experience at the lower level Food Svc Worker 2 (FFS011) or position equivalent.
An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year-over-year.
National and State background check as a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

At least six months experience working in a food service department (Hospital experience preferred)
Knowledge of therapeutic diets desirable.

Responsibilities

Cleans work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware
Cleans, peels, slices and trims foodstuffs using manual and electric appliances
Conducts or assists with food supply requisitions and sanitation and maintenance inspections
Observes safety, sanitation and health rules and standards
Portions food or places it directly on plates for service to facility residents, employees or patrons and packages takeout foods
Prepares foods
Receives payment for food items
Replenishes supplies of food, condiments, and equipment at steam tables and service bars
Stores food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage
Takes customers' orders and serves customers
Unpacks and stores supplies, raw and prepared food products
