About The Position

Other Food Support Worker positions, including OPS (Temporary) positions may be filled in from this advertisement within six (6) months of the closing date.

Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability and willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, if necessary.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Successful completion of the due diligence process to include, but not limited to, a Level II background check and drug test.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in dietary at a long-term care facility.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that food is stored, prepared, distributed and served under sanitary conditions.
  • Maintain dish room, serving area, dining room, and food storage areas in an orderly and sanitary condition.
  • Complete assigned cleaning tasks.
  • Assist in the preparation of meals as assigned, pull and pre-prep foods as assigned, help set up, and serve all meals.
  • Record all temperatures in the temperature book (food and equipment).
  • Report any faulty equipment to the supervisor.
  • Place food items on serving lines and keep serving line well stocked.
  • Maintain, check and control kitchen inventory to determine quantities available as well as amounts needed for operations.
  • Assist with purchase requests for food, cleaning supplies, utensils, pots, and pans.
  • Verify incoming shipments and receipts in the absence of stock person.
  • Check in and put away stock off the trucks.
  • Rotate stock throughout (dry storage, refrigerators, and freezers).
  • Assure all equipment is turned off properly and that all doors are locked at night prior to leaving.
  • Keep chemical room clean and organized with everything off the floor.
  • Keep all hand soap and paper towel dispensers filled throughout the kitchen and food service restroom.
  • Attend in-service training and perform other duties as assigned.
