About The Position

This assignment posting is for an Agency Worker opportunity with People Inc. The Agency Worker is paid by a staffing agency employer. Agency Workers will receive a W2 from the staffing agency reporting their earnings for tax purposes. Located in Birmingham, Alabama, is the People Inc. Food Studios, a state-of-the-art facility featuring 28 test kitchens, 13 photo studios, a prop and styling studio, an outdoor grill/BBQ station, and an expansive showcase kitchen and tasting room for demonstrations and events. Powered by a talented team of test kitchen professionals, stylists, and photographers, the People Inc. Food Studios is the country’s premier creative hub, producing thousands of world-class recipes, images, and related content annually for People Inc.'s print, digital, and social platforms.

Requirements

  • B.S., B.A., Culinary degree or equivalent professional cooking experience.
  • You have a thorough knowledge of food and cooking techniques and are inquisitive about food trends.
  • You are creative and have strong conceptual skills.
  • You have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through. You’re a spirited self-starter and the first to tackle an obstacle, contributing a creative and strategic approach.
  • You have the ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and stay organized under pressure. You keep an upbeat and positive attitude and are able to create a relaxed environment for your team, even under stressful situations.
  • You’re energized by collaborative environments; people respond to your open, communicative style.

Nice To Haves

  • Food styling assisting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the food stylists with grocery shopping, recipe prep, and organization of kitchens and workspaces.
  • Work with the Test Coordinator to shop and stock the pantries and cold-storage areas in the kitchen.
  • Ensure workstations are stocked with ingredients before recipe preparation.
  • Follow your food stylist’s lead to prepare recipes for photography.
