Food Services Team Member
About The Position
The Food Services Team Member assists with preparing, serving, and cleaning for USDA and Child Nutrition Programs, serving students in accordance with state, federal, and district policies. The role transports freshly prepared food from the commercial kitchen to other local schools and may operate a point-of-sale (POS) system. The employee follows Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines, daily job assignments, and oral or written job rotations. The position has no supervisory responsibilities but may assist the kitchen manager with directing others’ work as requested. Employment offers are conditional on successful background and reference checks. Employment is at will, and the employee must comply with the Colorado State Board of Education’s Drug-Free Workplace policy and verify legal authorization to work in the United States within 72 hours of employment.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license.
- High school diploma or equivalent, including GED or work experience.
Nice To Haves
- Some food service or school food service experience.
- Customer service experience.
- Professional or personal experience with scratch cooking.
Responsibilities
- Transport freshly prepared food to other locations and follow CEC transportation guidelines and policies.
- Serve meals according to standardized menus and recipes, using proper portion control and following federal, state, and district policies.
- Follow sanitation, cleaning, and kitchen safety requirements, including the HACCP Program and applicable federal, state, and local guidelines.
- Work cooperatively with kitchen staff and maintain a positive attitude toward co-workers, students, and school staff.
- Store food according to federal, state, and local nutritional standards and guidelines.
- Assist with receiving and stowing groceries and equipment as assigned by the manager.
- Complete written production menu worksheets.
- Follow daily job assignments and rotations as assigned by the manager.
- Assist the kitchen manager with directing the work of others when requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
