About The Position

This position is responsible for supervising, training and evaluating assigned personnel. They will determine work priorities, plan schedules, assign and review work. They will serve as an active member of the service team, to include following recipes to prepare food, operating the cash register, and interacting with guests.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or graduate of culinary school.
  • 36 months experience in food services.
  • 12 months in a supervisory role.
  • ServSafe Certification.
  • Sanitation Certification may be required upon employment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising, training and evaluating assigned personnel.
  • Determining work priorities, planning schedules, assigning and reviewing work.
  • Preparing food following recipes and applying individual portion control standards.
  • Properly and safely measuring, weighing and combining ingredients for quantity preparation of simple menu items.
  • Utilizing various kitchen utensils, appliances, and heavy/industrial equipment in food preparation (ovens, knives, peelers, dicers, slicers, mixers, industrial dish machines, recycling, stoves, etc.).
  • Serving food in a courteous and respectful manner, with proper portion control and knowledge of menu items.
  • Loading, carrying, and transporting hot or cold food items or containers to customers, serving lines, or dining tables-safely, efficiently and timely.
  • Loading and transporting food carts to and from designated floor units.
  • Washing, sanitizing, and storing pots, pans and kitchen utensils in designated areas.
  • Scraping dishes and cleaning tables, serving areas.
  • Cleaning counters and floors.
  • Following proper kitchen standards when cleaning/sanitizing the work area (floors, food carts, cabinets, tables, kitchen utensils and equipment, dishes, and tableware, etc.).
  • Assisting with special events across the University and across campuses that may include Presidential luncheons and dinners, catering needs, student organizational special requests, and day-to-day events.
  • Assisting other food services staff when necessary and voluntarily as much as possible.
  • As essential personnel, may be required to work during University closings and inclement weather.
  • Nights and weekends may apply for any operation.
  • Hepatitis A Vaccine required if hired, or annual testing.
  • Cleveland County Food Handlers Card required within onboarding timeframe.
