Provides direct supervision to cooks and other foodservice workers to ensure the safe and efficient performance of their duties and responsibilities and that the standards set by the department are met. This role involves understanding and promoting the organization's mission, vision, and core values, striving for continuous improvement, and treating all individuals with dignity and respect. The supervisor works collaboratively with other supervisors to ensure kitchen operations comply with regulatory requirements, resolve staff conflicts, and coordinate catering activities. They escalate issues to higher management as needed and assist with managing departmental records, including purchasing, invoices, temperature logs, and cycle menus. A key responsibility is generating labels and disbursement sheets for formula and special foods, and supporting dietitians in managing residents' dietary needs. The role also includes purchasing food and materials, supervising tray assembly, participating in meal observations, and reporting on resident food preferences and needs. Other related duties may be assigned.
