About The Position

Under the supervision of the Director of WRM-Mobile Mission and Operations Manager, this position oversees the day to day operations of the kitchen and food services of the Mobile ministry programs. This role involves managing kitchen supplies, developing menus, scheduling staff, ensuring food safety, and coordinating special events like community meals. The coordinator is also responsible for training staff and clients, maintaining equipment, and adhering to safety and health regulations.

Requirements

  • Christian Commitment: Must exemplify and model Christian behaviors and values and possess high levels of ethics, honesty and character.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Two-five years related experience and/or training in the food service industry.
  • ServSafe certification (to be obtained and maintained).

Nice To Haves

  • Food services management experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and maintain ServSafe certification.
  • Complete inventories of kitchen supplies and ensure temperature logs are maintained.
  • Manage the development of healthy weekly menus for clients and schedule staffing for meal preparation, service, and clean-up.
  • Oversee the development, placement, and reception of orders for food and other kitchen supplies.
  • Ensure all food products are refrigerated, cooked, thawed, and served in a safe and timely manner.
  • Maintain facilities, appliances, equipment, and stored food in accordance with ServSafe guidelines and public health directives.
  • Ensure proper cooking of all meats at the required temperature and for the prescribed length of time.
  • Ensure all donated cooked foods are marked with the date and time and are stored properly.
  • Ensure cooking and serving surfaces are cleaned and sanitized, and floors are cleaned and free of grease and other safety hazards.
  • Instruct staff and clients in proper hand washing techniques and practices.
  • Inspect kitchen utilizing AGRM compliance checklists.
  • Coordinate the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday community meals.
  • Ensure clients working in the kitchen are trained and that their experience is beneficial to their recovery.
  • Maintain and provide appropriate training of department Material Safety Data Sheets.
  • Ensure all employees are aware of the location of Safety Data Sheets and how to handle hazardous materials.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or other Mission management.
