About The Position

We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Food Service Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing excellent service to guests while assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring a welcoming dining environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting, and committed to upholding food safety and quality standards. This position plays a key role in delivering a positive customer experience and supporting overall daily operations.

Requirements

  • Food Handlers Permit
  • 2 to 3 years experience in the kitchen. (preferably in Healthcare facility)
  • Regulation requirement met to use a knife for food prep (law requires over 18 years of age)

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain professionalism.
  • Prepare food per recipes, minimizing waste.
  • Deliver and retrieve food from serving areas.
  • Ensure timely delivery of patient meals.
  • Review daily menu and production sheets.
  • Maintain supplies; date, label, and rotate stored food.
  • Sanitize food preparation areas and equipment as per health standards.
  • Comply with health department standards for food handling and storage.
  • Be self-motivated, able to memorize menu, organized, punctual, and computer literate (Blue Mountain Hospital Dietary programs).
  • Collect Cash and provide correct change.
  • Stay current on BMH policies, procedures, and protocols including background check and drug test.
  • Take responsibility for job performance and safety knowledge.
  • Participate in safety programs and emergency response teams.
  • Perform tasks within the scope of employment as requested.
  • Maintain confidentiality, following BMH policies and laws.
  • Work cooperatively with a positive attitude and be a team player.
  • Stand for 8 to 10 hours multiple days consecutively.
  • Lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Handle caustic cleaning solvents (with PPE and safety training).
  • Able to provide a quick turnaround in a busy stressful environment.
  • Any tasks, projects, or actions that are reasonably within the scope of the Employee’s position or employment, which the Employee’s supervisor, any member of BMH’s management, or BMH’s administration team—asks of the Employee.
  • Act as professionally as should normally be required in a medical organization.
  • Keep all BMH business and patient information strictly confidential and to adhere to all other BMH confidentiality policies and procedures, as well as all laws affecting confidentiality.
  • Refrain—whatsoever—from intentionally, purposely, knowingly, or negligently engaging in any conduct, actions, or speech that may cause concern, apprehension, confusion, or annoyance on the part of any BMH patient toward BMH as an organization or any BMH employee.
  • Work congenially and cooperatively at all times with all other BMH employees.
  • Communicate complaints about BMH, its policies, procedures, managers, administrators, and/or other employees—only to and through the appropriate BMH channels, which are limited to BMH’s management chain of command.
  • If applicable (having access to), check the Employee’s BMH email no less frequently than once daily.
  • Absolutely refrain from communicating or releasing any “Private BMH Information” to the media and/or non-BMH persons or entities—without formal approval to do the same by BMH’s CEO.
