About The Position

The Food Service Worker, specifically a Cafeteria Helper, will work 5.25 hours at Pleasantview School. The salary is per a Negotiated Agreement. This role involves assisting in food preparation, serving students, operating a point of sale system, handling money, and maintaining sanitation standards. The position requires a minimum of a High School Diploma or G.E.D. and experience in food service. Successful completion of Manager Certification for Food Safety is required within a specified timeframe.

Requirements

High School Diploma or G.E.D. minimum
Ability and knowledge to perform assigned duties
Experience with food service
Ability to frequently lift and move up to 30 pounds

Nice To Haves

Cash register experience preferred
Successful completion of Manager Certification for Food Safety within the time frame established by the availability of training and testing

Responsibilities

Setting up food counters
Assists in preparing food for breakfast and lunch
Understands and implements “Offer vs. Serve”
Interacts positively with students and staff in a friendly and kind manner at all times
Serving students with the ability to operate point of sale computerized system
Monitors the determination of reimbursable meals at point of service
Follows proper sanitation procedures when cleaning tables and equipment
Follows proper handwashing and glove procedures
Daily cleaning of kitchen, serving area, storage area, equipment and washing of dishes
Assisting Cooks with duties as assigned with minimal supervision
Handling money
Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Food Service Office
