Summary:
"FOOD SERVICE WORKER" is a part-time position at CALIFORNIA POLYTECHNIC STATE UNIVERSITY. The role involves preparing, presenting, and serving food as needed. Essential duties include performing prep work like washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables; weighing and measuring ingredients; carrying food items safely; storing food according to procedures; cleaning work areas, equipment, and utensils; distributing supplies; utilizing approved recipes and production standards for quality and portion control; serving customers in a friendly and efficient manner; resolving customer concerns; ensuring compliance with company standards, inventory, and cash control procedures; and assuring compliance with sanitation and safety requirements. The position is located at Hilltop at Cal Poly, 1 GRAND AVE. BLDG. 19, San Luis Obispo, CA 93407. Applications are accepted online only. The schedule is part-time with varying shifts based on business needs. The pay rate is fixed at $20.00 per hour. Previous food service worker experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables.
• Weighs and measures designated ingredients.
• Carries pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards.
• Stores food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety and rotation procedures.
• Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils.
• Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Utilizes approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control.
• Serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service.
• Resolves customer concerns and relays relevant information to supervisor.
• Ensures compliance with company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures.
• Assures compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
