This position is for a Food Service Worker with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) at Richmond Hospital. The role involves a variety of duties according to Food Safe protocols and quality and safety standards, within a client and family centered model of care. The position promotes a safe and respectful working environment. Duties include portioning and serving meals, assisting with food production, preparing coffee/tea and toast, portioning desserts, assembling sandwiches and salads, preparing and portioning diet items, and measuring and combining food and beverage ingredients. The role also involves checking patient/resident meals/trays for dietary accuracy, stripping wagons/trays, washing dishes and pots, cleaning kitchen equipment and areas, sweeping and mopping floors, removing garbage, delivering wagons/trays, retrieving and storing food items, and replenishing supplies. Clerical duties may also be performed, and the position may involve operating a cash register, receiving payments, and answering customer queries. This is a CASUAL/ON-CALL posting, and the organization is recruiting to maintain a pool of casual staff. It is a unionized environment, and vacancies are posted internally.
