About The Position

As a Food Service Worker, you will be responsible for serving meals for Navy recruits, sailors, students and staff according to designated meal schedules. This role involves various responsibilities including scullery work (automated dishwasher), ID checking, transporting food from the kitchen to the serving line, and salad bar attendance. The position requires preparing the galley for meal service, setting up steam tables, desert bars, drink stations, and product lines according to daily menus. It also involves filling hot boxes with food, serving customers courteously, emptying trash receptacles, and thoroughly cleaning food service equipment, dining areas, and serving lines. Additionally, the role includes assisting in the scullery as a runner and following all safety procedures.

Requirements

Must be able to obtain base security clearance.
State-Issued REAL ID
Understand and implement oral, visual or written instructions.
Operate various pieces of equipment in the performance of job duties.

Responsibilities

Prepare galley to serve meals during designated meal periods.
Assist with set up steam tables, desert bars, drink stations, product lines according to daily menus.
Fill hot boxes with food from kettles and ovens.
Serve customers expeditiously in a polite, courteous manner.
Empty trash receptacles at the end of each meal period or when needed.
Thoroughly clean food service equipment, steam tables, desert bars, dining room tables, and serving line areas during the meal and at the completion of meal period.
Assist in the scullery as a scullery runner.
Follow all safety procedures and report safety violations to appropriate supervisor.
Perform scullery work (automated dishwasher).
Act as an ID checker.
Transport food from kitchen to serving line.
Act as a salad bar attendant.
Maintain the kitchen, back dock, rest rooms, dining rooms, hot/cold boxes and meal line.
