About The Position

This role involves preparing and serving food and beverages, managing guest transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The Food Service Worker will follow recipes, prepare various food items, and ensure guest satisfaction. They will also handle cash transactions, stock service stations, and adhere to safety and sustainability guidelines. The position requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail in financial transactions, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Follow recipes to prepare food items.
  • Wash, peel, and cut fruits and vegetables; cut, trim, or clean meat.
  • Prepare appetizers, salads, or cold dishes.
  • Bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods.
  • Bake breads, rolls, or other baked goods.
  • Portion, arrange, and garnish food for pick up by server or deliver to guests.
  • Maintain clean and sanitized work areas such as cutting boards, counters and work spaces.
  • Secure and store food items properly.
  • Be aware of guest satisfaction scores and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction.
  • Follow safe food handling procedures.
  • Follow guidelines related to sustainability practices related to HHM’s EarthView program.
  • Practice safe work habits and wear protective safety equipment.
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
  • Take food and beverage orders and place orders in the point of service system.
  • Set and clear tables in dining areas.
  • Stock service stations with items such as ice, napkins, or straws.
  • Pick up orders from food preparation areas and ensure food is prepared accordingly.
  • Prepare guest check and if appropriate complete payment transaction.
  • Perform other food and beverage functions such as bartending and bussing in the event of staff staffing shortages or peak periods.
  • Prepare and serve menu items such as coffees, drinks, sandwiches, salads, etc. in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Follow food and beverage preparation and usage instructions to minimize waste.
  • Up-sell menu items and specials to maximize food and beverage revenues.
  • Work within policy to accommodate guests’ special food and drink requests.
  • Ensure adequate supply of plates, utensils, napkins, and other supplies throughout shift; replenish/restock supplies and inventory according to established procedures and guidelines.
  • Perform all pre-shift and post-shifts duties, side-work, and related paperwork.
  • Maintain a clean, neat and well-organized work area, including but not limited to refrigerators, display cases, counters, and seating areas.
  • Report all unsafe or malfunctioning equipment, safety hazards, or maintenance problems to management.
  • Complete pre, running, and post shift side-work requirements.
  • Responsible for opening, closing and running duties of cash handling policies and cash out process.
  • Adhere to all internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Attend all department and pre shifts meetings.
