About The Position

The Healthcare Food Service Worker prepares, delivers, and retrieves patient trays, and accurately sets up and delivers patient meals to support quality service and patients’ health. The role may also include working in retail areas as a food server or cashier; washing pots, dishes, and utensils using automatic or manual methods; sweeping and mopping floors; removing trash and cardboard; and performing other duties assigned by a supervisor.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Knowledge of proper food preparation, handling, and storage.
• Considerable working knowledge of food preparation and ServSafe practices.
• Proficiency in using kitchen equipment.
• Obtain a ServSafe and/or food handler safety card within 30 days of hire.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills needed to provide appropriate service to patients of the ages served in the assigned unit or department.
• Ability to work and cooperate with hospital staff.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
