About The Position

This position is responsible for cooking, baking, and serving meals to clients and staff at the Split Mountain Youth Center. The role involves ensuring food is maintained at appropriate temperatures, preparing salads and garnishes, and assisting with basic food preparation and ordering. Additionally, the position requires adherence to food safety and public health protection practices, managing an inventory system for supplies and equipment, tracking receipts, and properly disposing of sensitive documents and outdated items. Cleaning and disinfecting of areas and equipment using appropriate agents is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • Ability to manage own time.

Responsibilities

  • Cooks, bakes, or serves regular and/or special meals to clients and/or staff.
  • Ensures that food is maintained at appropriate temperatures.
  • Prepares salads and garnishes and assists in basic food preparation or ordering.
  • Distributes food using appropriate food handling and sanitation techniques.
  • Practices food safety and public health protection.
  • Coordinates an inventory management system to effectively control and distribute supplies and equipment.
  • Tracks receipts.
  • Destroys or disposes of outdated, sensitive documents, blank warrants, expired food stamps, etc., in a manner appropriate for the sensitivity.
  • Cleans, sterilizes and or disinfects areas and/or equipment.
  • Uses cleaning agents, products and equipment.
