About The Position

The Food Service Worker II prepares and serves regular or special meals to clients and/or staff at the Cache Valley Youth Center. The role includes basic food preparation, maintaining food at appropriate temperatures, following food safety and public health practices, and keeping food service areas and equipment clean and sanitary. The position is full-time and on-site in Logan, Utah, and is eligible for a full benefits package. A background check is required.

The ideal candidate enjoys cooking, following recipes, and providing nutritious food to youth; works well as part of a team; and can stand for long periods. Preference may be given to candidates age 19 or older and to candidates with a high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Cook, bake, or serve regular and/or special meals to clients and/or staff.
• Ensure food is maintained at appropriate temperatures.
• Prepare salads and garnishes and assist with basic food preparation or ordering.
• Distribute food using appropriate food-handling and sanitation techniques.
• Practice food safety and public health protection.
• Maintain inventory.
• Track receipts.
• Clean, sterilize, and/or disinfect areas and equipment.
• Use cleaning agents, products, and equipment.
