About The Position

St. Peters Health Partners, a member of Trinity Health, is seeking a Food Service Worker I at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, NY. Trinity Health is a large healthcare system employing over 120,000 colleagues across multiple states, committed to serving diverse populations with culturally sensitive care. This role is crucial in ensuring the freshest food is prepared and delivered to patients, staff, and visitors. The Food Service Worker, under the guidance of the Lead Food Service Worker and Food Service Manager, will be responsible for various food preparation, service, and sanitation tasks within the Food and Nutrition Services department.

Requirements

  • Read, write, and speak English at a minimum 6th-grade level.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Complete high school level computational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Six months of food service and customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare menu items according to production sheets, forecasted quantities, and MHCI recipes.
  • Prepare salad items, cold food items, and desserts for patients and retail.
  • Adhere to HACCP guidelines for sanitation and infection control in food preparation and service.
  • Perform duties such as patient customer service, cafeteria and catering services, patient visitation, tray assembly, distribution, and service.
  • Perform general sanitation, cleaning, and use of kitchen equipment.
  • Perform dishwashing and pot washing.
  • Assist in the service and storage of food.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of sanitation procedures and maintain a clean, sanitary working environment.
  • Use and document cooling charts, vegetable wash of produce, and food temperatures.
  • Adhere to SPHP's code of conduct.
