Food Service Worker - Dietary
About The Position
The Food Service Worker performs various jobs for patient food preparation. This role involves duties for patient tray preparation, retail sales, and catering. The worker will assemble patients' trays, prepare food by chopping, slicing, and peeling, and transport carts and food to different units and areas as needed. Responsibilities also include washing pots, pans, and dishes, operating and cleaning equipment, sweeping, mopping, and disposing of trash. Additionally, the role requires stocking and cleaning nourishment rooms/refrigerators, adhering to regulations, utilizing resources efficiently, maintaining a safe work environment, addressing patient population-specific needs, and participating in Performance Improvement activities.
Requirements
- Able to read, write and understand the English language.
- ANSI Accredited Texas Food Handler or ANSI Accredited Food Manager course or Certified Food Manager from the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District.

- High School Graduate or equivalent
- 1 year in patient-feeding food service establishment
Responsibilities

- Stocks and cleans nourishment rooms/refrigerators as assigned
- Adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations
- Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively
- Maintains safe work environment
- Addresses patient population-specific needs
- Participates in Performance Improvement activities
